Event and Project Coordination
Organizations often plan or host events to raise funds or help build awareness of themselves or their sponsors. Good planning is the key to a successful event - an experienced event planner makes a difference. Event planning is applicable to meetings, corporate events, fundraising galas, conferences, conventions, incentives, parties, open houses,
oral auctions, silent auctions, and other special events.
Event planning involves planning and budgeting,
marketing, location selection, banquet and event coordination,
creating a "play by play" and podium script, developing themes and
decorating, on-line registration, adult continuing education
coordination, and more.
Non-Profit and
Association Management
Associations, like small business, are incorporated entities that are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. This board makes decisions about how to spend the association's money. Its goals may be to promote a cause or provide professional continuing education. Volunteers are experts in their own areas, but may need the help of an experienced manager to get the most out of their leadership experience. They don’t want to spend their time keeping books, answering emails, or planning meetings. Associations contract with association managers, often called Executive Directors or Executive Secretaries, to manage the administration so that volunteers can concentrate on the larger issues.
Spire Management staff are familiar with a wide variety of software
programs in the Microsoft Office suite and "cloud-based" on-line programs for association and non
profit management. These include, Doodle, Google Docs,
Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, Affiniscape,
Wild Apricot, and Star Chapter, among many other software programs.
Our program of choice for bookkeeping is Quickbooks.
Facilitation and Training
Inspiring volunteers, board members and members is our passion. Our experience with a wide variety of non-profit organizations and associations gives us a “top down view” of their organization. Spire Management, an association management company, inspires nonprofit volunteers through nonprofit leadership training, volunteer training, new board member training, training for treasurers, and coaching for board presidents.
Meeting facilitation and leadership training services can build stronger leaders in organizations to help them leverage the passion of their board members and volunteers with effective techniques in organizational leadership. It is through effective leadership that associations and non-profits reach their goals.
Grant Writing, Needs Assessment, and Fundraising
Let’s say a board member comes up with an idea to build a community center. And let’s assume the idea has merit - the community needs one and people would definitely use the facility. Initial estimates are it’s going to cost millions of dollars. As a community leader, and head of a foundation for a non profit, you know it’s a long way from the birth of this idea to completion. Funds must be raised and community support must be nurtured. You may question if the project is feasible at all. Your board is well meaning and motivated, but they haven’t done this before. It’s a big project, so you consider outside help.
Spire Management, offers grant writing, needs assessment and project coordination for non-profit organizations, foundations, and associations. Consulting early in the process and evaluation of funding sources and community support, will ensure non-profit organizations can build their dreams.
